Growth Through Music
More About Us
Over the years, our efforts have ranged from supporting international disaster relief to rescuing countless children and their families from the streets, funding after-school programs, and helping abused children by providing shelter, healing and growth. In 2013 we began implementing a strong focus on music education and music therapy programs. Due to this new direction, the foundations name was changed from the DEI Children’s Charitable Foundation to Forte for Children. The word forte has two descriptions that make it appropriate for our foundation. The standard definition of forte is “something in which a person excels.” In music, forte means “to play loud”. We at Forte for Children strive to excel at supporting kids in need! We want it to be our forte and the forte of those around us. We also know in order to be successful, we’ll need to play our message loud! We’ll need to be the strong melody that carries the story of many children in need that reside in our communities. At Forte, we share a passion for music and believe it’s crucial to expose children to the arts. Support is needed as many programs are being cut from public schools. Based on the strong ties between music and academic achievement, music is a key to the success of future generations. We strive to offer a gateway to that success.
