Boys & Girls Clubs of Vista, Oceanside, San Marcos, Carlsbad, CA & Greater Metropolitan Baltimore, MD
In every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them.
Boys & Girls Clubs offer that and more. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.
Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow – all while having fun. They are truly The Positive Place For Kids.

Casa de Amparo
Established in 1978, Casa de Amparo (Home of Protection) is recognized as a leader in treating and preventing child abuse and neglect in San Diego County and beyond, with locations in Oceanside and San Marcos. The non-profit organization annually serves 850 Casa Kids, from prenatal to 24 years old, as well as 675 families and 450 adults, through six integrated programs that promote healing, growth, and healthy relationships.
Casa de Amparo incorporates music throughout all of its programs, from preschool to young adults. For example, Residential Services offers a therapeutic rehabilitation program, which includes a focus on music and art. Casa Kids who go the extra mile in their participation earn “Casa Bucks,” which can be used towards purchasing a music player from the Casa Store. Often times, music may be the only connection that they have to the outside world.
Solutions for Change
Solutions for Change provides access to the skills, knowledge, and resources homeless families need to regain their physical, emotional, and economic health and permanently solve their homelessness.
The adults—once securely housed and their children in school—participate in Solutions University, a 1000-day program to identify and eradicate the core issues that caused each family to become homeless. Solutions coaches work with residents to create a program tailored to each person’s needs. Solutions University is a unique and highly successful effort that has garnered national attention and recognition.
Since 1999, Solutions has guided more than 700 families and their 1400 children to a permanent solution to their homelessness, while saving taxpayers an estimated $32 million in public support costs. Solutions for Change is an expression of the community’s commitment to permanently solving family homeless, for the benefit of the adults, their children, and the community.
